Vibration

2000
The installation consists of 2 metal plates(ø80cm), 2 bass loudspeakers(12”), a halogen spotlight, amplifier/mixer and cables. One of the speakers (speaker A) is laying on the floor, membrane up, with a metal plate on top. A cable connected to the amplifier is molded to the other plate. This works as an antenna that picks up the electromagnetic radio waves in the room and makes a low-frequency audio signal played in speaker A, which makes the plate vibrate. The light from the spotlight is bounced from the plate to the wall and the reflection vibrates with the sound. The other speaker (B) is laying on the floor membrane down which makes the floor vibrate.
The installation was made at Galleri 54, Göteborg, Sweden, 2000
